A supervisor chain enables a supervisor to view and approve the timesheet entries not only of employees they supervise, but also the timesheet entries of employees supervised by those employees.

For example, suppose that Tony is Michael's supervisor, and Michael is Chris's supervisor. When a supervisor chain is set up, Tony can view and approve Chris's timesheet entries.
