Activity Pricing

You can override position rates in a project's budget by setting a different rate for each activity instead.

For example, suppose that arrangements have been made to charge a client by activity in a particular project.

Partners will charge:

Clerks will charge:

To implement this arrangement in the project budget, carry out the following steps:

  1. Open the Projects view in the left-hand pane.
  2. Select the relevant project.
  3. In the main workspace, open the Project Details tab.
  4. Select the Activity Pricing checkbox.
  5. Click SUBMIT.
  6. Open the Budget tab.
  7. Click EDIT.
  8. Select a position in the Position drop-down list.
  9. Select a phase in the Phase drop-down list, if relevant.
  10. Select an activity in the Activity drop-down list.
  11. In the Act Pri field, enter the charge-out rate for this activity in this project.
  12. Enter the other positions, activities and charge-out rates that apply to this project.
  13. Click SUBMIT.

When a Partner or Clerk now enters time in this project, the rates set the Budget tab will override the position charge-out rates and the project override rates.
