Details (Project)

To set details for a project:

  1. Open the Project view in the left-hand pane.
  2. Select the project.
  3. In the main workspace, open the Project Details tab.
  4. Select the Details tab.
  5. Specify the necessary settings.

    Field Description
    Project The name of the project.
    Last Reviewed The date of the last account review.
    Project Code Each of a client's projects is allocated a project code.
    Project Ledger Code An alphanumeric code that facilitates the export of financial data to a third-party accounts package.
    Purchase Order Number A reference number for the project if you are using purchase orders within it.
    Alternate Name An alternate name for the project, if applicable.
    Inactive

    When this checkbox is selected, the project will no longer be listed in the Project Review screen, or in any drop down list of projects.

    An employee can't enter time or expenses against an inactive project.

    The project can be re-activated simply by unchecking the box.

    If there is a WIP or Debtors Ledger balance for an inactive project, the balance will NOT appear on reports.

    No Expense Entry Selecting this checkbox means that expenses and outlays cannot be recorded against the project.
    Activity Pricing

    For use in budgets. It is possible to over-ride the charge-out values in Sage Coretime and chose more appropriate charge out rates for each Activity in the Project.

    When this checkbox is selected, you can override the default charge-out rates when you are building a Budget for the project. See Project Templates for more information.

    Charge using Emp. Rates Allows this project to be charged out not at the more usual "Position" rates but at the individual employee's rate as set in the Employee Details. See also Employees, Positions and Label Options.
    Override Rate

    You can set up to six charge-out rates per position.

    However, you can override these by selecting a rate table in this drop-down list.

    Override Cost Rate This field enables you to set up a single cost rate for the project. Normally the cost rate of the employee applies.
    Fee Type The fee basis of the project.
    Default Activity It can be useful to set a default activity. This enables users to skip selecting an activity when the default activity applies.
    Notes This panel enables you to enter notes relating to the project.
